Premium Joomla Templates for Joomla 5 and Joomla 6

Maintenance release.

• Updated the Bootstrap 2→5 compatibility stylesheet to the current version, bringing this template in line with the rest of the range.

Both the template package and the Quick Start have been rebuilt for this release. Download the latest from your member area.

Acceler8 6.1.3 is a maintenance release. It renumbers the template to match the Joomla version it is built and tested against, refreshes the Quick Start onto the current Joomla release, and brings the Bootstrap compatibility stylesheet up to the current shared build. There are no changes you need to make after updating — your settings, colours and menu choices carry over.

Version numbering

• The template version now matches the Joomla version it ships against. Acceler8 6.1.3 is the build for Joomla 6.1.3. The previous release of this template was numbered 6.1.2.3. This is a numbering change only — Joomla still treats 6.1.3 as newer than 6.1.2.3, so the update comparison in your Extensions Manager behaves normally, and nothing about how you install or update the template changes. We are applying the same convention across the whole template range so that the number on the download tells you at a glance which Joomla release it was tested against.

Quick Start

• The Quick Start package now installs Joomla 6.1.3. The previous Quick Start bundled Joomla 6.1.2. If you are building a new site from the Quick Start you now get the current Joomla release straight away, instead of installing and then immediately having to run a core update.
• The Quick Start is a standard Joomla installation package — upload it, extract it, and run the normal Joomla installer in your browser. Akeeba Kickstart is not needed.

Bootstrap 2 to Bootstrap 5 compatibility stylesheet

• Brought up to the current shared build, adding twenty-five further layout guards since 6.1.2.3. These were found and fixed on other templates in our range during August, and are included here as a preventative update so that Acceler8 is protected against the same classes of problem rather than waiting for one of them to surface on your site. The areas covered are: drop-down menu behaviour and flow; mobile header layout, ordering and spacing; slideshow controls on touch screens, which are revealed on hover and so were unreachable by tap; social icon rendering where a template's own image sprite competed with the Font Awesome 6 glyphs that replaced it; tooltips and popovers becoming visible on the page before they were triggered; page bands that pin themselves to a fixed desktop width and so scroll sideways on a phone; grid children that lost their block display; and full-height column panels that clipped the content they were meant to wrap.

What is not in this release

• No template file other than the Bootstrap compatibility stylesheet changed between 6.1.2.3 and 6.1.3. Everything shipped in the 6.1.2.x line — the Joomla 6 native rebuild, the removal of the JavaScript errors that fired on every page load, the jQuery compatibility layer that keeps the slideshow and parallax bands working, the log-in dialog that now opens fully visible, the mobile overflow and drawer fixes, and the drop-down menu positioning corrections — is carried forward unchanged in this package.
• Known limitation, unchanged and disclosed: the template still loads jQuery and a number of carried-forward jQuery plug-ins. These are dependencies the template genuinely uses, not dead code, and removing them is a larger piece of work than a maintenance release should carry.

• Drop-down menus no longer appear open before you hover them. On some templates every sub-menu was drawn on the page from the moment it loaded. They are hidden again until you move the mouse over the menu.
• Drop-downs sit directly beneath the menu they open from. They previously appeared a short distance below, and moving the mouse across that space closed the menu before you arrived. Sub-menus that open to the side are likewise flush against the column they come from.

Maintenance release. This update is recommended for all users — it removes JavaScript errors that could stop other features on the page from working, and improves the template's behaviour on phones.

• Fixed a JavaScript error that occurred on every page. A call to a jQuery feature removed in the version Joomla 6 ships was failing and preventing later scripts on the page from running.
• Removed leftover calls to jQuery plugins that are no longer bundled. A call to a missing plugin stops every remaining script in the same block from running, so this can affect features that look unrelated.
• Added a small compatibility layer for three jQuery methods that were removed before the version Joomla 6 ships, so slideshow controls and parallax backgrounds keep working.
• Updated the Bootstrap 2 to Bootstrap 5 compatibility stylesheet to the current build.
• The log-in dialog now always opens fully visible. Previously it could open with the page dimmed behind it but the dialog itself invisible.
• Pages no longer scroll sideways on a phone, and the mobile menu, search and social panels are now sized to the screen rather than to the full page width.

Concern 6.1.3 is a major rebuild — the first release of this template under Cybersalt, and the first that is Joomla 6 native. The design is deliberately unchanged: your layout, colours, fonts and menu choices all carry over. What changed is everything underneath, so that Concern runs cleanly on current Joomla instead of depending on code Joomla has been retiring since version 4.

If you are already running Concern, install the template package over the top — your template settings are preserved and no re-configuration is needed.

Joomla 6 native

• Concern now installs and runs on Joomla 6.1 without Joomla's backward-compatibility plugin. That plugin exists to keep very old extension code working, and Joomla 6 requires it switched off before it will allow the upgrade at all. Templates that still need it leave you stuck: turning it off breaks the site, leaving it on blocks the upgrade. Concern now uses current Joomla APIs throughout and is tested with that plugin disabled.
• The template version matches the Joomla version it is built and tested against — this release is 6.1.3, built for Joomla 6.1.3.

Fixed: the menu was empty on phones

• Tapping the menu button opened an empty panel. The mobile menu is built by copying your real menu into a slide-down drawer, and it was picking up the wrong list — first an invisible one made only of icons, and then, once that was corrected, the small footer menu. Either way the pages you actually navigate by were unreachable on a phone. It now finds the real menu, and Home, Blog, Features and the rest open in a proper accordion.

Modern framework

• Rebuilt on Bootstrap 5. Concern previously shipped Bootstrap 2, which Joomla dropped years ago. The grid, buttons, forms and drop-downs now use the framework Joomla itself loads — removing a large duplicate stylesheet from every page and stopping the two versions fighting over your layout.
• Compatibility layer added for jQuery 3.7. Joomla 6 ships jQuery 3.7, which removed several functions templates of Concern's generation relied on. Without the new compatibility script the slideshow controls and parallax bands stop responding on Joomla 6 — the page looks right but nothing moves.
• Legacy code removed — old jQuery plugin loaders, Internet-Explorer compatibility code and unused stylesheets.
• Login and other pop-ups rebuilt on Joomla's current modal, and the log-in dialog is visible again — on the mixed stack it could open completely transparent, dimming the page around a box you could not see.
• The pop-up's close button shows an X again. It had been painting as a solid coloured block sitting across the dialog's own title, with no glyph in it.
• The “Remember Me” tickbox on the sign-in pop-up is a normal checkbox rather than a box stretched across almost the whole width of the dialog.
• Tooltips and popovers no longer render as invisible empty boxes.
• Page content sits where it should again. Bootstrap 5 adds an inner gutter that the original design did not expect, and because this template nests one container inside another it was inherited twice — leaving every page shifted about 12 pixels to the right.

Testimonials

• The testimonials section is a rotating carousel again. Its slider had stopped being started up, so instead of one testimonial at a time with arrows you got all ten stacked one below the other, adding roughly 1,500 pixels to the home page.

Security hardening

• Settings are now escaped before they are written into your page. Colours, sizes, image paths and text taken from the template's Options screen pass through dedicated escaping helpers — 191 places in the template's main file — instead of being printed raw as the original code did. These are administrator-only settings, so this is hardening rather than the closing of an exposed hole: it removes the class of problem where an unexpected character in a setting could break the page or put unintended markup into it.

The template Options screen

• All 22 colour settings are real colour pickers with a live preview, instead of plain text boxes needing a hand-typed hex code.
• Every on/off setting is a native Joomla switch — 61 of them — replacing the old image-based toggles, so the Options screen matches the rest of your administrator and works on a phone or tablet.
• The version displays correctly. Extensions → Manage had been reporting a 2018 date for this template regardless of the build installed.
• A new Favicon tab lets you select any image and have the template build every icon size browsers and devices ask for, with a crop tool for non-square images.
• Two headings that were meant to display in capitals now do. A find-and-replace in the original build had corrupted the styling rule behind them, so they rendered in ordinary case.

Header controls

• The menu button no longer appears to have four bars. Bootstrap 5 underlines links by default where Bootstrap 2 did not, and the underline fell directly beneath the three-bar icon in the same grey — so it read as a fourth bar. The same stray line sat under the account, register and search icons.
• The account, register and search icons are one matched set. They had each been sized independently — anywhere from 10 to 18 pixels, on three different vertical lines — so they read as unrelated controls rather than a group.
• The menu button is back to its proper size. Bringing those controls onto one shared size and alignment had shrunk it along with them, losing the emphasis the design gives it as the way into the menu.
• A phantom drop-down arrow beside the Login button has gone — it opened nothing and was left over from styling copied out of the header.

Log-in and registration

• The “Sign in with a passkey” icon renders at normal size. Joomla 6 supplies that icon without a size, and because this template pre-dates that style of icon it expanded to fill the space, appearing as a large dark shape across the log-in area.

Slideshow

• The previous and next arrows are back. They were switched off in the home page's own settings, so the slideshow could only be advanced by waiting. They are on by default now, always visible rather than appearing on mouse-hover, and sized as a proper touch target.
• The slide dots sit along the bottom, in a row. They had been stacked in a vertical column pinned to the top-left corner of the slideshow.
• Slide images size correctly instead of overflowing or leaving gaps at some screen widths.

Phones and tablets

• The menu button sits beside the logo and opens an accordion menu below the header, where opening one section closes the others.
• A utility row puts account, register, search and social controls together as properly sized touch targets, evenly spaced and fitting inside the screen instead of being clipped off both edges.
• Those icons are actually visible. Several were being drawn in the same colour as the button they sit on — an icon at 1:1 contrast with its own background, i.e. a button with nothing on it — and the Register chip could come out blank white with no pencil at all, painted over by a donor style loaded after ours.
• Two empty bands removed on phones — a dead strip of header background up to 200 pixels tall between the logo and the icon row, and a further gap of about 100 pixels under the page trail, left over from space the design reserved for a search box that no longer sits there.
• Sub-menus now have one open/close control, not two. Each item with children was showing both a plus and a down-arrow.
• That plus is legible. It had been pale ink on a pale background — under 2:1 contrast — which made the deeper levels of the menu hard to find on a phone.
• The “Follow us” social panel opens on a phone. It had been set to appear on mouse-hover only, which never happens on a touch screen, so it could not be opened at all; and when it did open the icons could be dragged outside the panel, leaving it looking empty.
• Article details stay on the page. The author, category, date and hit-count line under a heading could run off the right edge instead of wrapping onto a second line.
• Content modules are no longer clipped at the screen edge, which had been cutting the last word off banded sections.
• The “back to top” control is a proper circle rather than a stretched oval with its arrow sitting low.
• The page trail no longer takes up half the screen. On a deep page such as registration it wrapped onto five lines and stood over 200 pixels tall, pushing the form down and leaving the header image showing through behind it. It is now a single line you can swipe along.
• The search box is a usable size — a full-width panel under the header with a proper touch-sized field, instead of a cramped drop-down.
• The search button shows a magnifying glass rather than rendering as a blank white square.
• Sub-menus scroll instead of being cut off when a menu is longer than the screen, and the page can no longer be dragged sideways.

Icons, fonts and menus

• Font Awesome 6 replaces the Font Awesome 4 icon set, so icons render as sharp glyphs instead of blank squares.
• The social network set is up to date — X, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, Pinterest and Discord.
• The social icons are visible, and there is only one of each. The original design hid each link's text by pushing it far off the left of the screen and painting a picture behind it — so once the icons became real glyphs they inherited that shove and went off-screen with it, and where the old picture survived it showed through behind the new icon as a second, overlapping symbol.
• Drop-down menus no longer close before you can reach them. Moving the mouse from a heading down to its drop-down crossed a gap where neither was hovered.
• Menu modules placed in a sidebar render as a proper vertical list again. Bootstrap 5 redefines the list style those menus use as a horizontal row, so a menu in a left or right column came out as a strip of wrapped, jumbled links.
• Pagination arrows render correctly on article lists and blog layouts, and tall articles are no longer clipped to their title in the featured-article layout.
• The show/hide password control renders as an eye rather than a small dot.

Forms and search

• Search and text fields keep their proper height. Bootstrap 5 measures a field's box differently from Bootstrap 2, so fields sized by the original design lost their padding out of the declared height.
• The search field sits square in its row on full-size screens instead of riding high with empty space beneath it, and the button beside it stays flush against the field.
• Contact and registration fields fill the width on a phone and are tall enough to tap, instead of staying in the narrow side-by-side columns meant for a desktop.
• The label above the search box no longer prints as tiny grey text — it is hidden properly, the way an accessible label should be.
• Sidebar menus with sub-pages can be opened on a desktop. Those levels previously had no control to expand them at all.

Housekeeping

• Build artefacts and stray files that had been shipping inside the package have been removed.
• The Quick Start installs Joomla 6.1.3 and, unlike the older Akeeba-based quick starts, lets you create your own administrator account during installation instead of shipping a shared password.

• Fixed - the password show/hide button on the login and registration forms was an empty square. Joomla's own icon names are now mapped onto the template's icon font (around thirty icons Joomla uses in front-end views).

• Fixed - the Search menu item led to a "Component not found" error page; it now opens Smart Search.

Maintenance release ? version alignment and a Joomla 6 upgrade correction.

Fixed

• Leftover Joomla 5 items in the administrator's "Take a Tour" menu appeared as raw internal labels such as COM_GUIDEDTOURS_TOUR_WHATSNEW_5_2_TITLE instead of readable names. The Joomla 6 upgrade had left the old Joomla 5 tour records in place while removing the text that named them, and the two current Joomla 6 tours had never been added. Corrected.

Changed

• Version renumbered to 6.1.2 so the template version matches the Joomla version it is certified against. Template-only fixes from here will use a fourth number (6.1.2.1, 6.1.2.2, and so on).

Major release ? Trento is now genuinely Joomla 6 native. Rebuilt on Bootstrap 5, with every Joomla 3-era API call replaced by its modern Joomla 6 equivalent. The quickstart ships Joomla 6.1.2. A number of long-standing faults were found and fixed along the way, including a slideshow and a parallax effect that had quietly stopped working.

Ten of the entries Joomla uses to describe its own content types — the Module type, and the tag and author lookups used by the article, contact, news feed and category types — had been recorded during our internal staging process pointing at staging copies of the modules, tags and users tables rather than the real ones. On a site built from the Quick Start those staging tables were never created, so version history could not resolve tag or author names and module version history did not work. They now point at the correct tables. This defect was present in the 6.1.2.5 Quick Start and earlier; if you built a site from one of those, we recommend rebuilding from this one. Sites where the template package was installed onto an existing Joomla site were never affected.

Nexxy 6.1.3 is a maintenance release. It renumbers the template to match the Joomla version it is built and tested against, refreshes the Quick Start onto the current Joomla release, and brings the Bootstrap compatibility stylesheet up to the current shared build. There are no changes you need to make after updating — your settings, colours and menu choices carry over.

Version numbering

• The template version now matches the Joomla version it ships against. Nexxy 6.1.3 is the build for Joomla 6.1.3. The previous release of this template was numbered 6.1.2.6. This is a numbering change only — Joomla still treats 6.1.3 as newer than 6.1.2.6, so the update comparison in your Extensions Manager behaves normally, and nothing about how you install or update the template changes. We are applying the same convention across the whole template range so that the number on the download tells you at a glance which Joomla release it was tested against.

Quick Start

• The Quick Start package now installs Joomla 6.1.3. The previous Quick Start bundled Joomla 6.1.2. If you are building a new site from the Quick Start you now get the current Joomla release straight away, instead of installing and then immediately having to run a core update.
• The Quick Start is a standard Joomla installation package — upload it, extract it, and run the normal Joomla installer in your browser. Akeeba Kickstart is not needed.

Bootstrap 2 to Bootstrap 5 compatibility stylesheet

• Brought up to the current shared build, adding twenty-five further layout guards since 6.1.2.6. These were found and fixed on other templates in our range during August, and are included here as a preventative update so that Nexxy is protected against the same classes of problem rather than waiting for one of them to surface on your site. The areas covered are: drop-down menu behaviour and flow; mobile header layout, ordering and spacing; slideshow controls on touch screens, which are revealed on hover and so were unreachable by tap; social icon rendering where a template's own image sprite competed with the Font Awesome 6 glyphs that replaced it; tooltips and popovers becoming visible on the page before they were triggered; page bands that pin themselves to a fixed desktop width and so scroll sideways on a phone; grid children that lost their block display; and full-height column panels that clipped the content they were meant to wrap.

What is not in this release

• No template file other than the Bootstrap compatibility stylesheet changed between 6.1.2.6 and 6.1.3. Everything shipped in the 6.1.2.x line — the Joomla 6 native rebuild, the removal of the JavaScript errors that fired on every page load, the jQuery compatibility layer that keeps the slideshow and parallax bands working, the Font Awesome mapping that restored the password show/hide button and the first/previous/next/last pagination arrows, the log-in dialog that now opens fully visible, the mobile overflow and drawer fixes, and the drop-down menu positioning corrections — is carried forward unchanged in this package.
• Known limitation, unchanged and disclosed: the template still loads jQuery and a number of carried-forward jQuery plug-ins. These are dependencies the template genuinely uses, not dead code, and removing them is a larger piece of work than a maintenance release should carry.

• Drop-down menus no longer appear open before you hover them. On some templates every sub-menu was drawn on the page from the moment it loaded. They are hidden again until you move the mouse over the menu.
• Drop-downs sit directly beneath the menu they open from. They previously appeared a short distance below, and moving the mouse across that space closed the menu before you arrived. Sub-menus that open to the side are likewise flush against the column they come from.

Maintenance release. This update is recommended for all users — it removes JavaScript errors that could stop other features on the page from working, and improves the template's behaviour on phones.

• Removed leftover calls to jQuery plugins that are no longer bundled. A call to a missing plugin stops every remaining script in the same block from running, so this can affect features that look unrelated.
• Added a small compatibility layer for three jQuery methods that were removed before the version Joomla 6 ships, so slideshow controls and parallax backgrounds keep working.
• Updated the Bootstrap 2 to Bootstrap 5 compatibility stylesheet to the current build.
• The log-in dialog now always opens fully visible. Previously it could open with the page dimmed behind it but the dialog itself invisible.
• Pages no longer scroll sideways on a phone, and the mobile menu, search and social panels are now sized to the screen rather than to the full page width.

• Fixed - the password show/hide button on the login and registration forms was an empty square. Joomla's own icon names are now mapped onto the template's icon font (around thirty icons Joomla uses in front-end views).

Major release ? Nexxy is now genuinely Joomla 6 native. This is the largest update Nexxy has had. The template has been rebuilt from Bootstrap 2 onto Bootstrap 5, every Joomla 3-era programming call has been replaced with its modern Joomla 6 equivalent, the phone experience has been rebuilt, and a long list of faults ? several of which had been quietly broken for years ? has been fixed. The quickstart ships Joomla 6.1.2. Everything below ships in both the standalone package and the quickstart.

Added

• Joomla 6 native foundation ? rebuilt on Bootstrap 5 with a compatibility layer that preserves the original Nexxy design while the underlying framework is fully modern. Nexxy no longer depends on Joomla's backwards-compatibility plugin, so it keeps working when that plugin is switched off.
• A real mobile menu. The main menu now opens from a large, easy-to-tap button at the top right. Previously the phone view rendered the entire menu as a permanently expanded list roughly 2,000 pixels tall, pushing every part of the page far below the fold.
• A second menu row on phones ? a utility row with the secondary-menu button on the left and search on the right, evenly spaced, with Login and Register as icons alongside them.
• Search on phones ? opens as a full-width panel with a large field and a visible Search button. Previously the only way to run a search was to press Enter.
• Font Awesome 6.5.2 with version-4 compatibility shims, replacing Font Awesome 4.6.3, which was being loaded from a content delivery network that has since shut down ? so those icons had stopped appearing.
• Modern social networks ? Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, Pinterest, Discord and RSS, with X rebranding applied.
• Package-based distribution ? Nexxy now installs as a package and registers with Joomla's own Update Manager, so future releases appear under System ? Update ? Extensions.

Changed

• All 32 template settings switches converted to Joomla's native switch control, so the template settings screen matches the rest of Joomla 6.
• Google Fonts now load through a direct stylesheet link with preconnect and display=swap, replacing the old JavaScript font loader ? text appears sooner.
• The login window is now a properly centred Bootstrap 5 dialog.
• Menu dropdown width still honours the template's own dropdown-width setting.
• Retired dead social networks (Google+, MySpace, StumbleUpon, Digg, Blogger).
• Footer copyright year rolled forward to the current year.
• Quickstart ships a clean install ? article view counts zeroed, Joomla's setup-nag messages cleared, and leftover unused templates removed, so a new site starts tidy rather than inheriting demo clutter.

Fixed

• The login form could not be used on a phone. The dark overlay sat on top of the form, so nothing could be tapped at all.
• Login fields were unusably small ? 16 pixels tall with 11-pixel text. Now 42 pixels at 16-pixel text, which also stops iPhones zooming the page when you tap into a field.
• Login and registration forms failed on Joomla 5 and later with a behavior::formvalidation not found error, because they used a Joomla 3 validation call removed from Joomla core. (Reported by Zolt?n ? fixed across the whole template range.)
• The footer copyright text failed accessibility contrast ? dark grey on near-black, measured at 2.47:1 where 4.5:1 is required. Now 8.77:1 and slightly larger.
• Social icons were not centred inside their circular backgrounds.
• A large empty band above the slideshow on phones has been removed.
• A JavaScript error on every page load, caused by a jQuery Mobile plugin incompatible with current jQuery. It had already stopped working; the slideshow now offers tap arrows instead.
• The mobile menu stopped switching over after the grid rewrite, because the switch was keyed to old Bootstrap 2 column names.
• The blog sidebar dropped below the article column at tablet widths, and Read More buttons rendered as solid dark blocks.
• The menu bar sank into the slideshow by roughly 90 pixels.
• Login and Register stacked below the header on narrow desktops instead of sitting top-right.
• The site's own opening <html> tag was being stripped during modernization, and the donor was loading two competing stylesheet stacks.
• Login form fields now declare autocomplete, so browsers and password managers fill them correctly.
• Error and component pages were still loading the retired font-loader script.
• Template documentation icons in the Joomla admin pointed at the shut-down content delivery network.

Removed

• Internet Explorer conditional blocks and related workarounds.
• Bootstrap 2 framework files.
• Retired JavaScript libraries: superfish, supersubs, backstretch, the jQuery.browser shim, and jQuery Mobile.

Security

• Output escaping applied throughout the template (94 locations).
• Direct-access guards confirmed on every template entry point.
• External links now carry rel="noopener".

Known limitations

• The slideshow still uses the camera.js library; migration to a modern slideshow is scheduled for a later release.
