Version 6.2.0.1
Page language. The page had no opening
<html>tag, so browsers, screen readers and search engines were not told the page's language or text direction. It now declares both from the site's language settings.October 14, 2026Version 6.2.0
Joomla 6.2.0. The Quickstart now installs Joomla 6.2.0 (Joomla 6.2.0 release notes), and the template version is now 6.2.0 to match.
Error pages. "Page not found" and "access denied" pages now show inside the template, with its header, menus and footer, and fit a phone screen.
Phones. The sidebar no longer shows an empty "Main Menu" heading (its links are in the phone menu).
Quickstart. A fresh install no longer lists stale update notices.
October 2, 2026Version 6.1.4.1
Quickstart fix. The Quickstart no longer fails to install on MySQL hosts with a "prepared statement protocol" error. Thanks to Iryna for reporting this. The template itself is unchanged apart from its version number.
Quickstart. Removed leftover files from the quickstart's top folder.
September 30, 2026Version 6.1.4
Joomla 6.1.4. The Quickstart now installs Joomla 6.1.4, a security and bug-fix release (Joomla 6.1.4 release notes), and the template version is now 6.1.4 to match. There are no visual changes. Installing the template update does not update Joomla itself; update Joomla from System → Update → Joomla.
September 30, 2026Version 6.1.3.6
Fix. After the previous security update, print and email views, popup windows and the VirtueMart checkout step (pages served with
tmpl=component) could return an error page. The template'scomponent.phpnow defines the escaping helper it uses. There are no visual changes. Please update if you installed the previous version.September 28, 2026Version 6.1.3.5
Security update. Module, menu and tab titles are now escaped wherever the template writes them into your pages (module headings, title attributes and the mega menu), so a title containing a quote or markup can no longer break out of its place in the page. There are no visual changes. Recommended for all sites.
September 28, 2026Version 6.1.3.4
Security update. Every template setting that is written into your pages is now escaped for the place it lands in (HTML, attributes, CSS and JavaScript), so a setting value can no longer break out of its context. The error page now escapes its message and title too. There are no visual changes. Recommended for all sites.
September 10, 2026Version 6.1.3.3
Fixed a problem where a large logo could fill the whole screen on phones. The stylesheet that keeps this template working with current Joomla was letting the header logo draw at its own full size on small screens instead of scaling it down to fit the space, so a logo wider than the phone screen — common, since logos are usually exported at 1500 pixels or more to stay sharp — pushed the header out and showed visitors a giant close-up of one or two letters instead of the site. Logos now scale down to fit on every screen size, and a logo already small enough to fit is displayed exactly as before. Update the template to pick this up; if you built your site from the Quick Start, a rebuilt one is on your downloads page.
September 3, 2026Version 6.1.3.2
Maintenance release.
- Updated the Bootstrap 2→5 compatibility stylesheet to the current version, bringing this template in line with the rest of the range.
- Fixed: paginated pages returned a 500 error on PHP 8. Any page with pagination — on a shop template that includes the category listing — could fail with a server error instead of displaying. The cause was a leftover test in the pagination override that is invalid on PHP 8; the dead code has been removed.
Both the template package and the Quick Start have been rebuilt for this release. Download the latest from your member area.
August 19, 2026Version 6.1.3.1
Please update if you downloaded Creativa on 18 or 19 August 2026. The 6.1.3 package went out with a copy of our shared Bootstrap 2 to Bootstrap 5 compatibility stylesheet that was a week out of date, with the older mobile-header script, and with a stray build archive left inside the template folder. Its release notes described fixes that were not actually inside the file you received. 6.1.3.1 is that same release with the correct files in it. Nothing you have configured changes; install it over the top as usual.
This is a packaging correction plus a substantial catch-up of the shared stylesheet. Creativa goes from 78 to 106 layout-guard blocks, covering everything found across our template range between 11 and 19 August. Every item below was measured on a rendered page, not inferred from a file.
Fixed
- The register button in the phone header was a blank white square. Measured at 375 px on Creativa: a white pencil icon on a white button, a contrast ratio of 1.00:1 — the control was there, 44 × 44 px and tappable, and painted nothing at all. Creativa's own tweaks file was forcing a white background and dark text onto every button in that row, which overrode the accent colour the shared stylesheet applies to the register button. Those two declarations have been withdrawn from the tweaks file so the shared rules can own the button colouring; everything genuinely specific to Creativa in that file — size, border, corner radius, cursor — is untouched.
- The phone social panel opened with bullet graphics beside the icons and the icons wrapped onto two rows. Creativa's typography stylesheet puts a bullet image and a 24 px indent on every plain list item, and the social icons are copied into the panel as a plain list, so they inherited both. Measured before and after: the panel was 138 px tall with bullets and two rows of icons, and is now 72 px with one clean row.
- The log-in dialog's close button was a solid coloured block sitting on top of the "Login Form" heading. The Bootstrap 5 close control draws its × from Bootstrap 5's own stylesheet, which these templates deliberately do not ship — so it painted an empty box with no cross in it. The dialog now closes from a proper ×, and the button no longer covers the title.
- Joomla 6's passkey button drew an enormous black graphic across the log-in page. The "Sign in with a passkey" icon is supplied by Joomla as a drawing with no size of its own, and no template in this generation sizes one, so it expanded to fill whatever space it could find. It is now capped to a normal icon and takes the button's own colour.
- The article information line ran off the side of the page. Written by, parent category, category, published, created, last updated and hits were laid out on one line that was not allowed to wrap, so on a phone the later items simply ran past the edge of the screen — and that was the whole of the page's sideways scroll. The line now wraps.
- Icon buttons in the phone header could be completely invisible. Where the template's own stylesheets set a white icon colour, the icon landed on a white button and disappeared. Icon colour is now decided by the button's own background rather than inherited, so account, search, social and menu icons are always readable.
- The phone header icon row was unevenly spaced and clipped at both ends. Two spacing systems were fighting; the row now uses one, and the whole set fits and centres on a 375 px screen.
- The slideshow's previous and next arrows were too small to hit reliably on a touch screen and the chevron sat off-centre inside them. They are now a 44 × 44 px target with the arrow drawn centred.
- Pages could be scrolled sideways at tablet widths even though nothing visible overflowed. The drop-down menu panels are parked out of sight above the page, but only vertically — horizontally they still sat inside it and still counted towards the page's width. They are now parked out of the way in both directions.
- The controls at the top right of the desktop header were different sizes on different midlines. Register and account now share one box, one icon size and one baseline.
- A navigation bar containing a floated item no longer pushes the next row of content sideways. Bootstrap 2 shipped a clear-fix on navigation lists that Bootstrap 5 dropped; without it the row below snagged on the menu and lost a column.
- Breadcrumbs could run off the right edge on interior pages at 1024 and 768 px. The row holding them resolved to zero width, so the links had nothing to wrap inside.
- Old-style grid rows on category and blog pages no longer collapse. Rows whose children are all floated took no height at all, so the row's own background painted as a thin sliver and whatever followed rode up into it.
- The "+" expanders in the phone menu drawer take a colour derived from their own background rather than a fixed white that could land on a pale panel.
- Registration and account fields were unusably narrow on a phone. Several were about a third of the screen wide with the rest of the width empty beside them, because they were sized for a two-column desktop layout that no longer applies once the form stacks. They now use the full width.
- Tooltips, popovers, mobile menu and drop-down behaviour, phone header spacing, non-responsive page bands and full-height column panels all pick up further guards added across the range in this period.
Removed
- A stray build archive shipped inside the template.
html/layouts.zip— a zipped copy of the template's own override folder, left behind by an earlier build — was present in the 6.1.3 package and is gone from 6.1.3.1. It was never used by Joomla, but it sat inside your site's template folder and duplicated template source in a publicly-addressable location. If you installed 6.1.3, updating removes it.
Changed
- The mobile header and menu script is now the shared build used across the whole range (
js/cs-mobile-generic.js, replacingjs/cs-mobile.js). Behaviour is the same; the template now receives improvements to the phone header at the same time as every other template we publish. - The Bootstrap 2 to Bootstrap 5 compatibility stylesheet moves from the 11 August build to the 19 August build — 78 guard blocks to 106.
Unchanged
- The Quick Start still installs Joomla 6.1.3. Nothing in the sample site, its content or its extensions changed in this release — but the Quick Start has been rebuilt so that a new site started from it gets the corrected template files rather than the 18 August ones.
- No template setting, colour parameter, module position or override changed.
Most of the items above were found by walking rendered pages across our template range during August — Encore, Energize, Oxygen, Vision, Progressive, Crystal, Impulsa and Diversity — and applied here both where they were measured on Creativa itself and preventatively where they were not.
August 18, 2026Version 6.1.3
Creativa 6.1.3 is a maintenance release. It renumbers the template to match the Joomla version it is built and tested against, refreshes the Quick Start onto the current Joomla release, and brings the Bootstrap compatibility stylesheet up to the current shared build. There are no changes you need to make after updating — your settings, colours and menu choices carry over.
Version numbering
- The template version now matches the Joomla version it ships against. Creativa 6.1.3 is the build for Joomla 6.1.3. The previous release of this template was numbered 6.1.2.5. This is a numbering change only — Joomla still treats 6.1.3 as newer than 6.1.2.5, so the update comparison in your Extensions Manager behaves normally, and nothing about how you install or update the template changes. We are applying the same convention across the whole template range so that the number on the download tells you at a glance which Joomla release it was tested against.
Quick Start
- The Quick Start package now installs Joomla 6.1.3. The previous Quick Start bundled Joomla 6.1.2. If you are building a new site from the Quick Start you now get the current Joomla release straight away, instead of installing and then immediately having to run a core update.
- The Quick Start is a standard Joomla installation package — upload it, extract it, and run the normal Joomla installer in your browser. Akeeba Kickstart is not needed.
Bootstrap 2 to Bootstrap 5 compatibility stylesheet
- Brought up to the current shared build, adding twenty-five further layout guards since 6.1.2.5. These were found and fixed on other templates in our range during August, and are included here as a preventative update so that Creativa is protected against the same classes of problem rather than waiting for one of them to surface on your site. The areas covered are: drop-down menu behaviour and flow; mobile header layout, ordering and spacing; slideshow controls on touch screens, which are revealed on hover and so were unreachable by tap; social icon rendering where a template's own image sprite competed with the Font Awesome 6 glyphs that replaced it; tooltips and popovers becoming visible on the page before they were triggered; page bands that pin themselves to a fixed desktop width and so scroll sideways on a phone; grid children that lost their block display; and full-height column panels that clipped the content they were meant to wrap.
What is not in this release
- No template file other than the Bootstrap compatibility stylesheet changed between 6.1.2.5 and 6.1.3. Everything shipped in the 6.1.2.x line — the Joomla 6 native rebuild, the removal of the JavaScript errors that fired on every page load, the jQuery compatibility layer that keeps the slideshow and parallax bands working, the log-in dialog that now opens fully visible, the mobile overflow and drawer fixes, and the drop-down menu positioning corrections — is carried forward unchanged in this package.
- Known limitation, unchanged and disclosed: the template still loads jQuery and a number of carried-forward jQuery plug-ins, and the collapsible module chromes retain MooTools code that no longer runs, so those chromes do not collapse. These are carried-forward behaviours, not regressions introduced here, and addressing them is a larger piece of work than a maintenance release should carry.
With thanks to Michael Mullan, whose Expression bug report led to the maintenance pass across our templates that several of these compatibility-stylesheet guards came out of.
August 10, 2026Version 6.1.2.5
- Drop-down menus no longer appear open before you hover them. On some templates every sub-menu was drawn on the page from the moment it loaded. They are hidden again until you move the mouse over the menu.
- Drop-downs sit directly beneath the menu they open from. They previously appeared a short distance below, and moving the mouse across that space closed the menu before you arrived. Sub-menus that open to the side are likewise flush against the column they come from.
August 10, 2026Version 6.1.2.4
- Drop-down menus now sit directly beneath the menu they open from. They previously appeared a short distance below, and moving the mouse across that space closed the menu before you arrived. Sub-menus that open to the side are likewise flush against the column they come from.
August 10, 2026Version 6.1.2.3
Maintenance release. This update is recommended for all users — it removes JavaScript errors that could stop other features on the page from working, and improves the template's behaviour on phones.
- Removed leftover calls to jQuery plugins that are no longer bundled. A call to a missing plugin stops every remaining script in the same block from running, so this can affect features that look unrelated.
- Added a small compatibility layer for three jQuery methods that were removed before the version Joomla 6 ships, so slideshow controls and parallax backgrounds keep working.
- Updated the Bootstrap 2 to Bootstrap 5 compatibility stylesheet to the current build.
- The log-in dialog now always opens fully visible. Previously it could open with the page dimmed behind it but the dialog itself invisible.
- Pages no longer scroll sideways on a phone, and the mobile menu, search and social panels are now sized to the screen rather than to the full page width.
August 7, 2026Version 6.1.2.2
Maintenance release.
- Fixed: the password show/hide eye on registration and profile forms was invisible (the button had no background, leaving only the dark centre pupil showing) — the toggle now uses the standard dark button so the white eye icon is clearly visible.
August 7, 2026Version 6.1.2.1
Maintenance release. Three features that had been quietly dead since Joomla dropped the MooTools JavaScript framework are now working again, the template no longer ships any unused JavaScript, and the site console is clean. This release closes the "Known limitations" item published with 6.1.2. No settings change and no action is needed beyond updating.
Fixed
- The collapsible module styles collapse again. Both toggleModule styles were written for MooTools, a framework Joomla removed years ago, so clicking the heading did nothing — this had been broken since Joomla 3. They have been rewritten dependency-free and now open and close with a smooth slide. This was the limitation disclosed in 6.1.2.
- The slideshow parallax effect works again. The Turn ON/OFF Parallax setting had nothing behind it: the effect was also MooTools-based and had only been producing a console error. It has been rewritten in plain JavaScript with the original layer movement preserved, so the setting does what it says once more. A long-standing bug was fixed along the way — the original attached a new mouse handler every time the pointer entered the slideshow, stacking handlers for as long as the page stayed open.
- Touch swipe on the slideshow works again on phones and tablets. The bundled jQuery Mobile build was failing during its own start-up against the current jQuery and registering no gesture handlers at all, so the left/right swipes the slideshow listens for were never delivered. It has been replaced with a small purpose-built swipe handler.
- No more browser console errors. The template rendered three JavaScript errors on every page load at the start of this work and now renders none.
Removed
- 22 unused JavaScript libraries, about 343 KB. None were loaded by the template. Among them was jQuery 1.8.1 from 2012, which has publicly documented security vulnerabilities — shipping it, even unused, is something a security scan will flag. Also removed: superfish, supersubs, dropkick, owl.carousel, nicescroll, selectric, elevateZoom, backstretch, modernizr, selectivizr and others. If you referenced one of these directly in your own custom code, add your own copy — the template no longer provides them.
- A dead template file that used the Joomla 3 module-chrome programming interface, which Joomla 4 replaced. Every style it defined already exists in the modern format, so it was duplicate code that Joomla never called.
- The orphaned "Nice Tipz Labels" setting, which controlled a tooltip script that no longer ships. The setting had no effect.
Requirements
- Joomla 6.1 or newer · PHP 8.3 or newer · Bootstrap 5
- The quickstart bundles Joomla 6.1.2.
Known limitations
- The slideshow still uses camera.js and therefore still loads jQuery. These are working dependencies rather than dead code, but they remain on the list to modernize.
August 6, 2026Version 6.1.2
First Joomla 6 native release, and Creativa’s first real phone layout. Creativa has been brought forward from the previous download (template manifest11.11.2025 6.0.0) to Joomla 6.1.2 + Bootstrap 5, and no longer needs Joomla’s Behaviour – Backward Compatibility plugin, which Joomla 6 switches off by default. Creativa keeps the Bootstrap 2 layout classes in its module content and much of its layout and renders on Joomla’s Bootstrap 5 through a compatibility stylesheet, so existing module and article markup keeps its layout. On large screens the page now runs up to 1440 px wide instead of a fixed 940 px. On phones, where the previous version printed the whole menu tree as one long list, Creativa now has a menu button, accordion menus, a second row of controls and a working search. The Options screen gains a real colour picker, a Favicon tab and native on/off switches, the social links gain seven current networks with Font Awesome 6 icons, and 81 template settings written into the page are now escaped. Across the template, 10 files were added, 20 removed and 8 modified (242 → 232 files). Requirements: Joomla 6.1 or newer, PHP 8.3 or newer.Added
Bootstrap 5 compatibility layer
- New
css/bs2-bs5-bridge.css: maps Creativa’s Bootstrap 2 grid (.row-fluid,.spanN, offsets), thehidden-phone/visible-phoneutilities, block-level.nav > li > aanchors, the fixed-top navbar and the Bootstrap 2 modal shell onto Joomla 6’s bundled Bootstrap 5. Its rows tile to exactly 100 % at any container width (percentage widths with matching percentage gutters, first-column margins and the Bootstrap 5 container padding handled). - New
css/creativa-fixups.cssfor Creativa-specific layout: the phone header and panels, the slideshow, the social icons and Smart Search results. - Both are emitted as literal
<link>tags at the very end of the<head>, after the template’s own hard-coded stylesheets, so their rules win the cascade. Each carries a file-time version marker (?v=filemtime).
Phone layout (up to 767 px)
- New
js/cs-mobile.js(plain JavaScript, no jQuery): a compact header with the logo and a large menu button at the top right. It opens the main menu as a drawer in the page flow. - Accordion submenus in the phone menu: each parent item gets a round +/− chip (
.mobile-menu-indicator), only one branch opens at a time, and tapping the chip opens the submenu instead of leaving the page. Submenu items were not reachable on a phone before. - A second row of 44 × 44 px controls (
#cs-utility-row), centred under the header: Section menu, Log in, Register, Search and Social links. - The Section menu button opens the sidebar “Main Menu” module (
div.moduletable_menu) as a panel, with its submenu branches added so they can be opened there too. If a site has no such module, the panel is built from the main menu’s top level. - Panels open under the header over a dimmed backdrop, and close with a tap on the backdrop or the Esc key. At 768 px and above every moved element goes back to its desktop place.
Search on phones
- The Search button opens a full-width search box with its own submit button. Where the site publishes no search module (as on the demo),
cs-mobile.jsbuilds a Smart Search form (option=com_finder,view=search). The field uses a 16 px font and 44 px height, so iPhones do not zoom the page when you tap into it. There was no way to search from a phone before.
Favicon tool
- New Favicon tab, first in the template Options (fieldset
faviconsettings), with a media field (favicon) and a crop tool (fields/favicontool.php): pick any image, drag a square over the part you want, and it is saved to/imagesand selected. - On save,
index.phpgenerates the icon set through two new helpers,phFaviconSet()andphIcoBytes(): a realfavicon.ico(16, 32 and 48 px, also published at the site root), 32, 192 and 512 px PNGs and a 180 px Apple touch icon, cached underimages/favicon-generated/and renamed whenever the source image changes. With the field empty, the template’s ownfavicon.icois used. - 10 new language strings in
en-GB.tpl_creativa.ini, e.g.TPL_CREATIVA_FAVICON_TAB,TPL_CREATIVA_FAVICON_HELP,TPL_CREATIVA_FAVICONTOOL_CREATE.
Colour picker
- New custom field
fields/colorpicker.phpwith the bundled Coloris picker (js/coloris.min.js,css/coloris.min.css; nothing is loaded from an outside site). All 34 colour settings are nowtype="colorpicker", with a live swatch and an opacity slider. - New
fields/adminui.php: lets the Options screen’s help banners span the full form width instead of a 160 px label column.
Modern social network support
- Seven new social services, each with a URL field and an on/off switch: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Discord (fields
instagram/instagramON…discord/discordON). With X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Vimeo and RSS that makes 12. The new ones are off by default. - X (formerly Twitter) replaces the Twitter label; the field names
twitter/twitterONare unchanged, so a saved address carries over. - The icons are Font Awesome 6 brand glyphs (
fa-x-twitter,fa-facebook-f,fa-instagram,fa-bluesky…), sharp at any size, replacing the 25 px image sprite. Each link carries atitleand a screen-reader label. On phones the icons open in their own panel from the Social links button.
Security helpers
- New helper functions at the top of
index.php:phEsc()(HTML and attribute escaping),phCssDim()(CSS size validation) andphHexColor()(colour validation), each wrapped infunction_exists(). Details under Security.
Changed
Joomla 6 platform
- Built for Joomla 6.1.2.
templateDetails.xmldrops the Joomla 2.5<!DOCTYPE>, declares<extension version="6.1">(was3.10) and adds<targetplatform name="joomla" version="6.1" />. - The template loads Joomla’s bundled Bootstrap 5 stylesheet (
/media/vendor/bootstrap/css/bootstrap.min.css) instead of its own Bootstrap 2 copies (css/bootstrap/bootstrap.min.css,bootstrap-responsive.min.css,bootstrap-extended.css). - Layout classes in
index.php: 13spanN→col-md-Nand all 12.row-fluid→.row. The module-count column classes worked out in PHP ($mcols,$tm1class,$tm2class,$bmclass,$tpaclass,$bmaclass) and the sidebar columns keepspanN, which the compatibility stylesheet lays out;#main-content-handleris now a.row, so the sidebars sit beside the content. - Version
11.11.2025 6.0.0→6.1.2, creation date07/11/2012→2026-08-06, the Options screen’s version badge11.11.2026 6.0.0→6.1.2 (2026-08-06), andindex.phpcarries an@versiondocblock.method="upgrade"is kept, so an existing install updates in place.
Joomla 3 calls replaced
- All 18 remaining Joomla 3 calls are gone: 13 in the error page (
JError::raiseWarning()→new \Exception(), 12 ×JText→Text), 3 inhtml/pagination.php(2 ×$lang =& JFactory::getLanguage()→$lang = Factory::getLanguage(), 1 ×JText), thejimport()inindex.php, andJRoutein the removedhtml/mod_searchoverride. These aliases exist only while Joomla’s backward-compatibility plugin is enabled. html/mod_login/default.php: thedefined('_JEXEC')guard is now the first statement, andHtmlHelperis spelledHTMLHelper.
Wider page on large screens
.containerincss/responsive.cssismin(1440px, calc(100% - 40px))instead of a fixed940px, so content, images and module rows use up to 1440 px on a large monitor and shrink smoothly between 1200 and 1440 px. Acontainer-1440block incss/template.csslifts the compatibility stylesheet’s 1170 px cap for Creativa only. Tablet and phone widths are unchanged.
Login pop-up
#LoginFormis a Bootstrap 5 modal:.modal.fade > .modal-dialog.modal-dialog-centered > .modal-content, opened withdata-bs-toggle/data-bs-targetand closed with a.btn-closebutton and a Close button usingdata-bs-dismiss. It replaces the Bootstrap 2data-toggle/data-dismissmarkup (3 → 0), themodal ahide afadeclasses, the jQuery.toggle("fast")opener and the inline jQueryonclickclose handlers. The cart-panel hide now runs on Bootstrap’sshow.bs.modalevent. The login form opens centred with a backdrop, and Esc closes it.
Drop-down menus without Superfish
- Desktop drop-down menus open on hover through a short plain-JavaScript block in
index.php(mouseenter/mouseleaveonul.menu-nav li, settingsfHover, with a 500 ms close delay) instead of the Superfish / Supersubs jQuery plug-ins and theirjQuery.browsershim. The social-panel close link is plain JavaScript too. - Parent items show a Font Awesome caret: pointing down at the top level and right on fly-out submenus.
- Because of this, five settings on the Drop Down Menu tab no longer have an effect: speed (
dropspeed), opacity, height and width animation (dropopacity, dropheight, dropwidth) and minimum column width (dropdownhandler1). The column widths for 2–5 column drop-downs (dropdownhandler2–5) still apply. - jQuery itself still loads for the slideshow (
camera.jswithjquery.easing.1.3.jsandjquery.mobile.customized.min.js). jQuery calls across the template went from 31 to 4.
Slideshow
- The slideshow band (
#slideshow-handler) now takes its height from the slide itself at every screen width (syncSlideshowHeight()injs/cs-mobile.js), so the slide is no longer cut off at the bottom. Thecam_minHeightsetting remains the fallback. - Captions are centred in the slideshow with centred text, instead of starting about 60 % of the way across.
- On phones the previous/next arrows sit fully visible against the screen edges.
Template Options screen
- All 33 legacy
class="switch"checkboxes are now Joomla’s native on/off switchers (type="radio",layout="joomla.form.field.radio.switcher"), e.g.logoLinked,H1TitleImgText,usedropdown,cam_turnOn,cam_autoAdvance,showparallaxandusetheme. Four belonged to retired social networks; with the seven new network switches there are 36. - 63 field type changes in all (the 34 colour settings
text→colorpicker, e.g.bodybackground,anchors,cam_loaderColor). Fields 119 → 129 (18 added, 8 removed), tabs 7 → 8. - Tab names no longer end in “Settings”: Basic, Site Name And Slogan, Drop Down Menu, Built-in Slideshow, Theme (two labels in
en-GB.tpl_creativa.ini, three intemplateDetails.xml).
Icons
- The front end loads Font Awesome 6.5.2 (
all.min.css) withv4-shims.min.cssfrom cdnjs, instead of Font Awesome 4.6.3 from MaxCDN. The shims keep anyfa fa-*icon names in your own content working.
Error page
- The previous download carried the template’s error page as
error_.php, a name Joomla never loads, so errors showed Joomla’s own system page. It ships aserror.phpagain, rewritten for the Joomla 4+ API (see above), so “page not found” and other errors show the template’s error page with itscss/presets/style-error.cssstyling.
Stylesheets
- Every local stylesheet link in
index.phpcarries a file-time version marker (18 in all), so style changes show straight after an update instead of waiting for browser and CDN caches to expire.
Fixed
- The colour settings were plain text boxes: the old
jscolorstart-up code sat inside a spacer field’s label and no script ever loadedjscolor.js, so a colour could only be changed by typing its hex code. All 34 now have the colour picker. - The Options screen loaded an admin script that could not run (
utils/admin-js.js, which needs jQuery that the Joomla 6 administrator does not load) and requested Font Awesome 4.6.3 from the shut-down MaxCDN. Neither is loaded any more. - An invalid CSS property,
text-creativa: uppercase(a mangledtext-transform), appeared twice in the Options screen styles intemplateDetails.xml. - A PHP 8 “Undefined variable” warning from the breadcrumbs override. Joomla no longer passes
$moduleclass_sfxtohtml/mod_breadcrumbs/default.php; it now falls back to an empty suffix. - A PHP notice from the pagination override:
html/pagination.phpassigned a function result by reference (=&), which PHP 7 and later report as a notice. - A JavaScript error on every page while the social-icon tooltips were switched on. The Nice Tipz tooltip script (
js/tipz.js) is MooTools code and threwwindow.addEvent is not a function. It is no longer loaded, so thenicetipzlabelssetting no longer has an effect; the social icons carry a plaintitleinstead. - On phones the slideshow cut off the lower part of each slide.
responsive-template.csspins the slideshow to 300 px (200 px below 480 px) while the slide image is sized to the full screen width; the band now follows the slide. - Smart Search results widened the page. Each result’s full address printed as one unbreakable word, so a phone page scrolled sideways. Result titles and addresses now wrap (
overflow-wrap: anywhere), at every width. - Fixes from a maintenance pass across our templates:

.blog-featured .blog-items.columns-1). - The template version shown in the Options screen matches the release.

Quickstart Installer
Creativa-6.1.2-Quickstart.zipis a complete Joomla 6.1.2 site with Creativa installed as the active template, with the demo content.- It installs through the standard Joomla web installer, where you create your own super-user account. It replaces the previous Akeeba Kickstart (
.jpa) download. - Bundled extensions: Joomla 6.1.2, Akeeba Backup 10.3.7, MCP For J 2.4.0, StageIt 5.7.3, Weblinks 5.1.0.
- Only the templates the site uses are included: the
templates/folder holdscassiopeia,cassiopeia_extended,creativaandsystem. - Joomla 3’s legacy Search (
com_search,mod_searchand theplugins/searchgroup) is not in the files, and its extension rows are disabled. The demo’s “Search” menu item keeps its label and opens Smart Search (com_finder). - Smart Search works from the first visit: its content plugin is enabled and the index is built.
- The home page’s three featured articles run across one row (menu option Multi Column Order: Across) instead of flowing down the columns and leaving the third empty.
- A clean starting state: article hit counts start at 0, the action log is empty and the post-install messages are trimmed to the 5 useful ones (of 15).
Package format
- Standalone template: Creativa now installs as a Joomla package,
pkg_creativa-6.1.2.zip(pkg_creativa.xml), which installs and registers thecreativatemplate; the previous download was a bare template zip. It declaresmethod="upgrade", so an existing Creativa updates in place, and<blockChildUninstall>true</blockChildUninstall>, so the template is removed through the package rather than on its own. - Quickstart bundle:
Creativa-6.1.2-Quickstart.zip, a complete Joomla 6.1.2 install with Creativa pre-loaded as the active template.
Known limitations at this release: the two collapsible module styles (toggleModule,toggleModule2) andhtml/modules.phpstill contained MooTools code, so the chromes did not collapse; the slideshow’s parallax effect (js/parallax.js) was MooTools too and did nothing; and the unused jQuery plug-in files stayed injs/. All three were dealt with in 6.1.2.1. The slideshow still usescamera.js, so jQuery still loads.Version numbering: from this release the first three digits of Creativa’s version match the Joomla release it is built for (6.1.2 = Joomla 6.1.2). A later fix on the same Joomla release adds a fourth digit (6.1.2.1). The previous download was versioned11.11.2025 6.0.0.November 11, 2025Version 11.11.2025 6.0.0
