Energize Themes was originally launched in August 2005 as Joomladesigns.co.uk — one of the early commercial Joomla template shops, started in the UK to make professional, high-quality templates that anyone could pick up and customize. The site has been releasing templates for the award-winning Joomla content management system.
In May of 2026 Energize Themes was acquired by Cybersalt Consulting Ltd., a Canadian-based Joomla consulting and development company that has been working with Joomla since the very first releases. Cybersalt also acquired VirtuemartTemplates.net at the same time, runs the Basic Joomla Tutorials YouTube channel featuring training, live streams, interviews, and all things Joomla-related, and handles support and ongoing development for the PHP-Web-Design.com family of Joomla extensions. The same template catalog you've always relied on at Energize Themes is still here. What's new is the support team behind it and the active development plan going forward.
