Added

Bootstrap 2 layout on Joomla 6

• New css/bs2-bs5-bridge.css, loaded as the last stylesheet in the head with a version marker. It takes over what the bundled Bootstrap 2 stylesheets did for Logic’s markup: .row-fluid rows with .spanN columns, offsets, pull-left / pull-right, the hidden-phone / visible-phone (and tablet / desktop) utilities, the Bootstrap 2 button classes, tab panes, collapsing panels, the base heading sizes, and stacking of multi-column rows on phones.
• About 54 of Joomla’s own icon-* classes (e.g. icon-eye, icon-eye-slash, icon-angle-left, icon-angle-double-right) are mapped onto Font Awesome 6, so the icons Joomla prints in forms and pagination show up (see Fixed).
• index.php: the 10 .row-fluid wrappers became .row (10 → 0) and the 11 .spanN columns use Bootstrap 5 .col-md-N classes (11 → 0). css/responsive-template.css gives its phone rules for #foo-left-right .span6 and #bot-modules .span2 matching .col-md-N twins.
• New js/cs-jq-compat.js: restores three jQuery 1.x calls that Joomla 6’s jQuery 3.7 removed but the bundled scripts still use: .live() (the slideshow’s play/stop controls in camera.min.js), .offset() on the window, and .load(fn) as a load-event shortcut.

Phone header and menu

• New js/cs-mobile.js. On screens up to 767 px Logic gets a menu button (44×44 px) on the logo row, at the right and centred on the logo. It opens a slide-in menu built from the site’s real nested main menu; items with sub-pages get a round chip that opens them, and opening one section closes the others.
• An icon row under the header, inside the fixed header, with five 44×44 px buttons on one line: Section menu, Account, Register, Search and Share.
• Section menu opens the page’s sidebar menu module, or a menu built from the main menu’s top level on pages without one. Account opens the log-in dialog; Register goes to the registration page.
• Search opens a full-width panel directly under the header with a touch-sized field and a search button showing a magnifying glass.
• Share opens the social icons in a panel. The icons sit without the list-bullet image that typography.css gives every list item.
• On phones the header’s Register and Login Form text links are hidden, because the icon row offers both.
• Open panels close when you tap the same button again, tap outside them or press Escape, and close when the window is widened to desktop size.
• Log-in, registration and account form fields run the full width of a phone screen, and the page cannot be pushed sideways.

Favicon tool

• New Favicon tab (fieldset faviconsettings, first in the template options) with a media field (favicon) and a crop tool (favicontool, field class fields/favicontool.php): load the chosen image, drag or resize a square over the part you want, and the cropped image is saved.
• On the front end, index.php builds the full icon set from that one image with two new helpers, phFaviconSet() and phIcoBytes(): a real favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 px), 32, 192 and 512 px PNGs and a 180 px Apple touch icon, written to images/favicon-generated/. The .ico is also copied to the site root where the server allows it.
• The generated file names change whenever the image changes, so browsers pick up a new icon instead of holding on to the old one. With no image chosen, the template’s own favicon.ico is used.
• New fields/adminui.php: a hidden field that styles the template’s Options screen only, so help text runs across the full width of the form instead of being squeezed into the 160 px label column.
• 10 new language strings in en-GB.tpl_logic.ini (66 → 76), e.g. TPL_LOGIC_FAVICON_TAB, TPL_LOGIC_FAVICON_HELP, TPL_LOGIC_FAVICONTOOL_CREATE.

Colour picker

• New custom field fields/colorpicker.php with the bundled Coloris picker (js/coloris.min.js, css/coloris.min.css). All 25 colour settings are now type="colorpicker", with a swatch in the field, an optional transparency slider and keyboard support. Nothing is loaded from an outside site.
• Colours are still stored as hex codes, so every colour you had set carries over unchanged.

Modern social networks

• Eight new social services, each with a URL field and an on/off switch: Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Discord (fields instagram/instagramON … discord/discordON).
• The Twitter slot is labelled X (formerly Twitter) and shows the X logo. The full set is now X, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, Pinterest, Discord and RSS.
• The social links are drawn as Font Awesome 6 brand icons instead of an image sprite, centred in their round chips.

Security helpers

• New helpers in index.php: phEsc() (HTML escaping) and phCssDim() (a number with an optional CSS unit), each declared only if not already defined. Details under Security.

Changed

Joomla 6 platform

• templateDetails.xml drops the Joomla 2.5 <!DOCTYPE>, goes from <extension version="3.10"> to "6.1" and declares <targetplatform name="joomla" version="6.1" />. method="upgrade" is kept, so an existing install updates in place.
• templateDetails.xml version 06.11.2025 6.0.0 → 6.1.3, creation date 03/09/2013 → 2026-08-18. The template’s Details panel reads 6.1.3 (2026-08-18), with a short changelog under it, and its X and Facebook icons use Font Awesome 6 brand icons.

J3 → Joomla 6 API migration

• All 16 Joomla 3 class calls removed (calls before → after): error_.php (now error.php) 14 → 0 (JText → Text, JFactory → Factory, JError → new \Exception()), html/mod_breadcrumbs/default.php 1 → 0 (JText → Text) and html/mod_search/default.php 1 → 0 (JRoute → Route). These old names exist only while Joomla’s Behaviour – Backward Compatibility plugin provides them. The jimport() call in index.php is gone.
• html/mod_login/default.php uses the correct class name HTMLHelper and defaults $type to 'login'; html/mod_breadcrumbs/default.php defaults $moduleclass_sfx to empty. Joomla no longer passes either variable to these overrides, so PHP 8 no longer warns about them.

Error page

• The template’s error page was shipped as error_.php, a name Joomla never loads. It is now error.php, on the Joomla 4+ API, so “page not found” and other errors use the template’s own error layout (css/presets/style-error.css: site name, error code and message, likely causes and a link to the home page) instead of Joomla’s plain system page.

Template Options screen

• The 27 remaining legacy on/off checkboxes (class="switch" type="checkbox") are now Joomla’s native switchers, for example logoLinked, H1TitleImgText, RSSON, usedropdown, usetheme, cam_turnOn, cam_autoAdvance, cam_hover and cam_navigation. With the eight new social switches there are 35 in all; the other five old checkboxes went with the retired social services.
• 52 field type changes in all (25 colour settings plus 27 switches). Fields 115 → 124, tabs 7 → 8.
• The tabs now read Favicon / Basic / Site Name & Slogan / Community Links / Drop Down Menu / Header & Footer Custom Code / Built-in Slideshow / Theme. Before: Basic Settings, Site Name And Slogan Settings, Community Links, Drop Down Menu Settings, Template Header And Footer Custom Code, Built-in Slideshow Settings, Theme Settings.
• The Options screen’s panel headings are uppercase as designed: the template’s admin CSS had text-logic: uppercase where it meant text-transform: uppercase.

Log-in dialog

• The Login Form window is a Bootstrap 5 dialog centred on the screen (modal fade + modal-dialog-centered + modal-content), opened with data-bs-toggle / data-bs-target and closed with data-bs-dismiss. Before, a jQuery .toggle("fast") showed and hid an inline display:none block with a hard-coded z-index.

Menus

• Desktop drop-down menus open on hover with CSS (nav.css plus the compatibility stylesheet) instead of the Superfish/Supersubs plug-ins. An invisible hover strip spans the gap between a menu item and its drop-down, so the menu stays open on the way down; the menu’s spacing and look are unchanged.
• The drop-down animation settings (dropopacity, dropheight, dropwidth, dropspeed) and the minimum width (dropdownhandler1) no longer have an effect.
• html/mod_menu/default.php no longer calls selectnav(), which turned the menu into a drop-down select box on phones; the phone menu above replaces it.

Slideshow

• The built-in slideshow still runs on camera.js. Its previous and next arrows are now visible on touch screens; before, they appeared only on mouse hover, so on a phone or tablet the slideshow could not be moved by hand.

Search (desktop)

• The search drop-down under the magnifier is wide enough to read what you type. Before, it was a panel of about 170 px with a field under 30 px tall.
• The search field sits centred in its header row instead of riding at the top with empty space beneath it.

Fonts and icons

• The Google Fonts WebFontConfig JavaScript loader is replaced by a direct font stylesheet link with a preconnect and display=swap (Open Sans; WebFontConfig 1 → 0).
• The front end loads Font Awesome 6.5.2 from cdnjs (all.min.css + v4-shims.min.css) instead of Font Awesome 4.6.3 from the shut-down MaxCDN, so existing fa fa-* class names keep working.

Stylesheets

• The local stylesheet and script links in index.php, and the nine stylesheet links in component.php (print, email and pop-up views), carry a version marker taken from the file’s modification time. Style changes show straight after an update instead of waiting for visitors’ browser caches to expire.
• component.php and the error page still load the template’s single Bootstrap 2 file, css/bootstrap.css.

Fixed

• A module style could take the page down. html/layouts/chromes/toggleModule.php had a stray ?> on line 15 that left $headerLevel and an if( outside PHP, a parse error that blanked any page with a module set to the toggleModule style. Fixed; see the note at the end about the collapse effect.
• A JavaScript error on every page with the slideshow. The bundled jquery.mobile.customized.min.js throws under Joomla 6’s jQuery 3.7. Nothing used it, and it is no longer loaded.
• The colour settings were plain text boxes. The Options screen wired up the old jscolor picker 25 times, but on Joomla 6 it never appeared, so a colour could only be changed by typing its hex code. All 25 now have the colour picker.
• The Options screen’s headings were not uppercase because of the text-logic typo (see Template Options screen).
• Fixes from a maintenance pass across our templates:
  • The password show/hide button on the log-in and registration forms was an empty box, and the Previous / Next / First / Last pagination buttons were blank. Joomla prints its own icon-* classes there, and nothing mapped them to an icon font; the compatibility stylesheet now does, and the eye takes the button’s text colour.
  • Featured-article intro text in a one-column layout is no longer clipped to its title (.blog-featured).
  With thanks to Michael Mullan, whose Expression bug report led to this maintenance pass across our templates.

Removed

Legacy scripts and stylesheets no longer loaded

• Scripts: superfish.js, supersubs.js, selectnav.min.js, jquery.mobile.customized.min.js, and the Internet Explorer scripts modernizr.js, selectivizr-min.js, imgSizer.js (with its addLoadEvent() helper) and the html5shiv from Google Code, plus Google’s webfont.js and the inline jQuery.browser shim. The files that came with the template remain in js/ but nothing loads them.
• Stylesheets: the bundled Bootstrap 2 files css/bootstrap/bootstrap.min.css, bootstrap-responsive.min.css and bootstrap-extended.css, the Internet Explorer 7 stylesheet css/ie.css with its conditional comment, and Font Awesome 4.6.3 from MaxCDN.

Files removed from the package

• Bundled Bootstrap 2: the css/bootstrap/ folder (bootstrap.css, bootstrap.min.css, bootstrap-responsive.css, bootstrap-responsive.min.css, bootstrap-extended.css, bootstrap-rtl.css, bootstrap-tooltip-extended.css) and the archive css/bootstrap.zip.
• The old colour picker utils/js_colourchanger/ (jscolor.js, arrow.gif, cross.gif, hs.png, hv.png) and the colours_handlers field that set it up.
• html/com_content/category/blog_item.zip, an archive left inside the overrides folder.
• error_.php (replaced by error.php).

Retired social services

• Five social slots removed with their switches: Google+ (gplus), MySpace, StumbleUpon, Digg and Blogger.

Security

• 103 places in index.php where a template setting is written into the page now go through an escaping helper. 102 use phEsc() (HTML escaping): the 13 social link URLs, the site-name and slogan text and images, positions, font sizes and colours in the page’s inline CSS, the colour preset name, the slideshow caption settings and the favicon links. Before, all of these were printed raw.
• phCssDim() accepts the header height setting (topheight) only as a number with an optional CSS unit.
• The site name and slogan text fields (H1Title / H2Title) are escaped, so HTML typed into them now shows as text.

Quickstart Installer

The Quickstart is a complete Joomla 6.1.3 site with Logic installed as the active template and the demo content. It is now a standard Joomla installation package, so you create your own administrator account during installation; the previous Quickstart was an Akeeba backup archive (.jpa) that needed Kickstart.

• Bundled extensions: Akeeba Backup 10.3.7, MCP For J 2.5.0, Weblinks 5.1.0, StageIt 5.7.3. The templates/ folder holds cassiopeia, cassiopeia_extended, logic and system; the long-removed bluestork admin template is gone.
• The Web Links pages returned a server error. The demo carried Web Links 3.0.0, a Joomla 3-era component that fails on PHP 8 and had no update site registered, so it would never have offered to update itself. It is now Web Links 5.1.0 and those pages load.
• Joomla’s legacy Search component, module, package and its six search plugins are disabled; they do not work on Joomla 6. The “Search” item in the About Joomla menu now opens Smart Search under the same label, and the old Search item in the administrator menu is trashed.
• The Behaviour – Backward Compatibility plugin is disabled, and Joomla 6’s own compatibility plugin runs with its class aliases and legacy classes switched off.
• The sample categories under “Extensions” (Components, Modules, Templates, Languages, Plugins) showed five icons from administrator/templates/bluestork/, an admin template Joomla removed long ago, so each one was a broken image. The five icons now ship in templates/logic/images/legacy-bluestork/ and the descriptions point there.
• Logic’s entry in Extensions: Manage reads 6.1.3; on the demo it was built from, the stored version still read 2.5.14.
• A clean starting state: article and category hits start at 0, the 16 template overrides are marked as reviewed (no “changes found” warning), none of the 13 post-install messages is shown, and Joomla’s Statistics plugin is switched off.

Package format

• Standalone template: pkg_logic-6.1.3.zip, a Joomla package (pkg_logic.xml) that installs the logic template and registers it in the package manager. Before, the download was a bare template zip (logic-J6.zip). It declares method="upgrade", so an existing Logic updates in place, and <blockChildUninstall>true</blockChildUninstall>, so the template is removed through the package rather than on its own.
• Quickstart bundle: Logic-6.1.3-Quickstart.zip, a complete Joomla 6.1.3 install with Logic pre-loaded as the active template.
